The most primitive form of the Aryan speech has been
identified, also partly read and understood. It is the Indus language at the isolating
stage,represented by the extant Indus inscriptions.
The same language was reaching the agglutinative stage,when suddenly its speakers
disintegrated due to some tragic event. The western branch under the favourable conditions
of nature,reached the inflexional stage in the 'land of Soma plants' outside the present
Indian territory.When there was a slope downwards,hymns began to be composed which form
the early part of the Rig Veda. A group among them had shortly earlier marched towards
Central Asia on their way to Europe.They were the Greeks, Romans, Teutons, Slavs, etc..
The Eastern and Southern branch of the agglutinative Indus,under the unfavourable
conditions of the hot sun and hilly forests,limped at the same stage for a very long time.
The original settlers remained entrenched on the banks of the river Sarasvati from where
they had dispersed,spreading upto Sindhu in the west and Ganges in the east.Later,when the
Aryans of the land of the Soma plants joined them,there was the beginning of the pastoral
vedic culture.
Briefly,The Indus Valley is the original home of the Aryans or Indoeuropeans.The racial
distribution as Aryan,Dravidian and Austric,etc. is ill conceived.
The Author has taken all care to convince the critical world of the Indus studies about
his view point by reconstructing the dead and forgotten Indus Language.He has also tried
to show the missing link between Indus and Sanskrit and,by the way has also challenged the
reconstruction of the parent IE.
All textual
references relate to "The Indus script" by Mr Iravatham Mahadevan,especially the
numbers of signs and texts.
In transcribing
the Sanskrit words,the capital letters are cerebrals,R being the vocalic r,and,if vowels
they are long,A like a in Market,I like ee in seen,U like u in rule.Besides,H is Visarga
finally & a voiceless h initially & medially and M is Anusvara.
