Qualifications: M.A.,Ph.D. (Patna University,Patna), Diploma in Applied Linguistics.

Experience: 

  1. Lecturer in Sanskrit,Goenka  College,Sitamarhi (Bihar),1959-64.

  2. Lektor,Indogermanisches Seminar,Frankfurt University,(Germany) 1965-66-67.

  3. Research for Ph.D (Thesis:Metres of Kalidasa) and also translation of the Sanskrit Woerterbuch by Boethlingk and Roth    1968-73.

  4. Assistant Director (Correspondence Course) 1973-77 Deputy Director (Academic)  1977-93. Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Ministry of HRD, Govt.of India.

Languages Known:
Knowledge of Sanskrit, Pali, Prakrit, Apabhramsa, Hindi, Bengali, Modern Persian, German, French, English and aquaintance with Greek, Latin, Avestan and Old Persian.

  1. From Indus to Sanskrit  Pt. I -1996 
    The sign no. 342 (Mahadevan)  deciphered, =sh  in bhasha

  2. From Indus to Sanskrit  Pt. II -1997
    The Indus numeral script  identified with  the syllabic order of the Mahesvarasutra  and  more than  one-third of the Indus script  deciphered.

  3. From Indus to Sanskrit  Pt. III -1998
    A Major Success  :

    a. Three types of  Scripts were used in the Indus inscriptions;namely animal figures,geometrical figures  and  numerals.

    b. The language -  at the isolating stage of  Indus,but moving towards the agglutinative stage,two stations  away from the inflexional Vedic.

    c. The texts (Mahadevan)  no. 2659,2374,1365,4464;4132,4147;  1013;1460;8011  read and interpreted.

  4. The discovery of Indus - 1999
    The texts no. 2594, 8013, 4325, 5094 and some others read and interpreted All basic signs,except a few, identified.

  5. The evolution of  THE INDUS LANGUAGE and its transition into Sanskrit - 2000.
