THE CLUES TO DECIPHERMENT

HISTORICAL INDUS GRAMMAR

DECIPHERED TEXTS

First of all, it summarises the history of my research from 1994 to 1998. Then it surveys the whole history of the Indus language from the isolating (present in the inscriptions) to the inflexional stage (later recorded in the Vedic and cognate languages). A few remarkable texts discussed are the following: Sa Tha 8013, ta gra Sa ra gha 4325, Na ga 5094, and some doubtful ones.

A Hindi word has helped to  to identify the syllable la with 84. The syllable rau or rAu  is seen 258. The signs 204-5 were wrongly read sa. They are Ha (the voiceless h), coming to Sanskrit as s, or sometimes lost. The history of ca (and) is interesting.

What we know as IE is the inflexional Indus, which underwent drastic  innovations as it crossed the Central Asia on the way to Europe.
